THE SLIDER was one of ten pieces of music chosen by Sarah Lucas for BBC Radio 3’s programme Private Passions, broadcast 5 February 2017, for which this 7 minute recording was especially performed and recorded.

Michael Berkeley speaking on Radio 3, "He sent a note with the piece saying that 'the beginning was inspired by waking up in a Suffolk field to the violin-buzz of millions of insects'."
